Hand & Power Saws

The following list of health and safety procedures and rules to ensure safe operation is not exhaustive.

Health and safety

• Eye protection must be worn
• Hair must be tied, no loose items (lanyards/ ties/ necklaces/ loose clothing etc. ) should be worn during operation
• Sturdy footwear must be worn - no sandals!
• Never carry out maintenance on the hand/ power saw
• Never attempt to change the blade, ask a technician if the blade seems dull/ is broken

Extra safety precautions for any power saw:

• Ear protection must be worn
• Dust masks must be worn
• Never leave the power saw unattended while running
• Keep the work area clean and free of debris - before and after using the power saw!
• Know the location of the emergency off switch/ button before operating the power saw
