Woodworking Power Tools and Accessories

We have a range of power tools and accessories in G13. We run inductions on the woodworking power tools individually - usually only if a users’ project requires it. Watch the linked videos for each tool before attending an induction:

Health and Safety for tools in G13

• Ear protection must be worn
• Eye protection must be worn
• Dust mask must be worn
• Hair must be tied, no loose items (lanyards/ ties/ necklaces/ loose clothing etc. ) should be worn during operation
• Sturdy footwear must be worn - no sandals!
• Never carry out maintenance on the machine
• Never leave the machine unattended while running
• Keep the work area clean and free of debris - before and after using the machine!
• Never reach into the machine while it is operating or powering down
• Know the location of the emergency off switch before operating the machine

Operational notes:

• Bring bit to full rotation speed before plunging
• Advance the router in the opposite direction of the rotation of the cutter (counter routing)
  • The bit spins in a clockwise rotation
  • Move router in the opposite direction of bit rotation (this allows the bit to cut into the wood)
